About us

Born from a passion for coffee and a desire to bring it to everyone (not just coffee fans), Luke concieved the idea for a drive-thru coffee unit in the heart of Kilkenny back in 2019. But with the advent of COVID and the subsequent restrictions, the plan was put on hold. Eventually resurrected in the summer of 2025, we placed down our first coffee kiosk and drive thru in December 2025 and haven't looked back!

We sell exceptional coffee, refreshing lemonades, amazing matcha and alt drinks, tasty pastries and much more. We're excited for you to come visit us for a coffee and decide for yourself if we're #1 in rural Ireland (or maybe all of Ireland?).

"Consider the lilies of the field and birds of the air..."

Our logo was born from a passage in the bible (Matthew 6:25-34) from the Sermon on the Mount where Jesus advises against anxiety and worry. He points out that nature doesn't stress over provisions or clothing yet is perfectly cared for.

That relief from anxiety and worry is something we strive for at Lily & Birds. Whether in our dealings with customers, each other, suppliers, or strangers we meet, we try and spread joy and positivity wherever we go.
